Jenny, like most staff, works part time. She will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.

Volunteers are an integral part of the organisation. They assist in 4 major roles:

(1) Committee of Management

Our Committee of Management oversees our organisation. Some of their main roles are governance and planning. It is made up of a group of respected community minded citizens who come from a variety of backgrounds. Please refer to heading on Main Menu.

(2) Client Support Volunteers

Client Support Volunteers act as a non-medical support person and through visits, provide comfort and support to clients, carers and families. They keep staff and team members, informed of any client, carer or family concerns.

(3) Administration Support Volunteers

Administration, printing, mail-outs and collating are just some of the essential help that our Administration Support Volunteers provide. Our Administration Staff oversee and guide the volunteers in the important tasks that need to be completed.

(4) Fundraising Support Volunteers

Our fundraising group is known as the Friends of Banksia. Banksia endeavors to empower our Fundraising Support Volunteers to participate in the roles they enjoy more. For example, our Auction Night, Trivia Night , Street Stalls, Film Nights, Bikes rides and raffles are some of the activities arranged.

Our Fundraising Support Volunteers liaise with our Community Development Manager, and attend a monthly meeting, where possible.

Our Fundraising Support Volunteers are an important means for Banksia to be able to create awareness.

Many of Banksia Volunteers attended a Morning Tea during the 2009 National Volunteer Week. Their commitment to Banksia was acknowledged, with a Certificate and a small gift of a banksia plant, being presented to each volunteer.
