John Richardson became President following the 2005 AGM. Prior to that, he was Vice President from 1997. John joined the Board in 1994 and is currently the Director of Human Resources at Austin Health, a 750 bed major teaching and research hospital affiliated with the University of Melbourne.
Prior to his current role, John held appointments as the Group Manager of Employee Relations for the North East Healthcare Network and Human Resources Manager at the former Austin Hospital (now Austin Health).
In a career spanning over 26 years, John has worked in all facets of the Human Resources function in such diverse organisations as Arts Victoria, the Road Traffic Authority and the Attorney Generals Department.
Apart from his position at Austin Health and his current voluntary role as President of Banksia, John is also a non-executive director of the Victorian Hospitals Industrial Association, has a Bachelor of Business degree with a psychology major and is a Chartered Member of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
