Community Home Based Palliative Care Service

Does Banksia need financial assistance?

Please contact Banksia's Executive Officer if you have any ideas or inquiries about how you can help Banksia financially, to meet the demand for its services or implement non-funded projects and initiatives.  Banksia is always grateful for any financial assistance.  Banksia needs to raise significant additional annual income from community contributions such as; grants, donations, bequests and fundraising.  Banksia is funded by a combination of State and Federal government resources.  However, funding for Palliative Care resources is limited.

Community Support and input is essential for Banksia to maintain its high level of service.  Banksia is always open to discussions about forming partnerships, with respected community organisations and businesses for fundraising.  Please contact our Community Liaison Coordinator if you would like to hold a fundraising event to aid Banksia.

How to Donate
You can attend Banksia in person, phone your credit card details or send a cheque to Banksia. All donations are receipted and acknowledged by letter.
Banksia is endeavouring to have electronic donations being available in the near future.
All donations of $2 or above are tax deductible.

Fundraising Support

In the Community

A role of the Community Development Manager is to supervise Banksia's wonderful fundraising support volunteers who are known as the "Friends of Banksia".  This small group of individuals have formed a group which helps with organising for example: Street Stalls, Trivia Nights, Film Nights and Sausage Sizzles.

Please refer to "Volunteers" Heading on Main Menu.

Banksia is always seeking to gain new members of any age.  Our emphasis is on empowering the and volunteers to do what "interests them".  For information, Banksia only has one or two raffles per year and there is very minimal resources utilised in that type of activity. Fundraising support is much more than "Raffles".  Our volunteers are all "champions" of Banksia in creating "awareness".

The ability for Banksia to not be able to attract fundraising support volunteers has been disappointing.  To date, the members of the "Friends of Banksia" have mainly come from a carers background, where they have an intimate appreciation of the services Banksia provides.
